About

Introduction:
I graduated from the Mathematics Department of University of Ioannina, Greece in 1987, and I received my PhD in Computing from University of Bradford, UK, in 1993. After a short break fulfilling my military service obligations I worked for two years (1996-1998) for Intaracom SA in the R&D Department as a Project Coordinator mainly in European Projects. In January 1998 I got a new job in Hitachi Europe Ltd acting initially as an industrial research fellow hosted by Cambridge University (1998-2000) and then as a Senior Researcher in the newly established research lab in Cambridge. In 2004 I was appointed Assistant Professor in the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department, University of Patras, Greece, and in 2013 I got elected in the position of Associate Professor. Furtheromore, during the period 2003-2010 I had been acting as a research Consultant in the Hitachi research lab of Sophia Antipolis, France. Currently, I am leading the research group of Network Architectures & Management Group that is carrying out research in the context of the Future Internet. Indicative some of the research topics are: P2P Live Streaming, Software Defined Networks, Identity Management, Resource Management in Cloud Computing. Finally, in the context of Future Internet Research Experimentation we have built an experimental infrastructure, the Patras Platform for Experimentation, which can be used by third parties to carry out experimentation.
